The state government’s previous “Vidhwa Sahay Yojana” was renamed as “Ganga Swaroopa Yojana” to give respect to the beneficiaries . The Gujarat government had increased the monthly pension amount from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,250 from April 2019. Ganga Swaroopa Yojana will ensure that the amount is credited in the first week of every month.
This scheme was started by the Government of Gujarat in the year 2019. This scheme is also known as
Ganga Swaroop Yojana . Under this scheme, all the widowed women of the state will be provided financial assistance of Rs 1,250 per month by the government in the form of pension. So that they can fulfill the special needs of their house. Its benefit will be given to 35 lakh women of Gujarat state. After applying for the scheme, the amount determined by the government will be deposited directly into the account of the women.
- Applicant must be a citizen of Gujarat state.
- To avail the benefits of the scheme, the age of the woman should be between 18 years to 60 years.
- The applicant must be a widow.
- The name of the widow woman should not be there in any kind of criminal records.
- The woman applying should not be a beneficiary of any other government pension or financial assistance.

How to apply for Vidhva Sahay Yojana
- Fill the application form: First of all you have to download the Vidhwa Sahay Yojana form from its official website , you can also get this form from Mamlatdar/Talati/Jan Seva Kendra. After getting the form, fill all the information asked in it carefully, and put your passport size photo in the photo column.
- Attach photocopies of documents: After filling the form completely, all the required documents have to be attached with the application form. Before getting the photocopies made, make sure to check all the documents once.
- Submit Application Form : After checking the information filled in the application form and the documents, submit the application to the officer by visiting the Mamlatdar / Talaati / Jan Seva Kendra.
- Verification and Checking Process: Once you submit your application form to the officer, your application form and documents will be checked and if everything is correct then your application will be approved, this may take up to 60 days.
- Take advantage of the scheme: After your application is processed within 60 days and approved by the authorities, an amount of Rs 1,250 will start getting deposited every month in the account mentioned in the application form.
