Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Sewing Machine Scheme is for those women of the country who want to become self-reliant with their skills. Women skilled in sewing work can apply under this free sewing machine scheme. After selection, they get financial assistance of up to Rs 15000 from the government to buy a sewing machine.
So far more than 3 lakh 37 thousand people have been included under the Vishwakarma sewing machine scheme . Out of the 18 trades included under the Vishwakarma scheme, the maximum applications are being made under the tailor trade.
Sewing machine scheme has also been made to promote the work of 17 other types of workers under Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma. The main objectives of this scheme are.

- Many people have this question in their mind that what is the last date to apply for Vishwakarma Sewing Machine Scheme 2025, then let us tell you that PM Vishwakarma Yojana will be implemented in the first phase for five years i.e. till 2027-28. This means that you can apply online for Vishwakarma Yojana till the end of the financial year 2027-28.
- Thus,The last date for Vishwakarma Sewing Machine Scheme is 31 March 2028, which can be increased if the government decides to go ahead with the scheme.
- Financial Assistance: Under this scheme, eligible women get financial assistance of up to ₹15000 to purchase a sewing machine.
- Free training: Before getting a sewing machine, women are given free training to learn the nuances of sewing. The duration of the training is 5 to 15 days, and during this time the women also receive an allowance of ₹500 per day.
- Loan facility: After completing the training, if women want to start their own sewing business, they can also take an easy loan of ₹ 2 to ₹ 3 lakh from the government. Under the PM Vishwakarma Loan Scheme, the government is also providing a loan of up to ₹ 3 lakh without any guarantee at only 5% interest.
- Do any business other than sewing: It is not just sewing machine, eligible women can apply to do business in any of the 18 trades included under the scheme . After the application is approved, all the benefits that are being given by the government under the sewing machine scheme or Vishwakarma toolkit scheme can be availed.
- Eligibility for Vishwakarma Sewing Machine Scheme
- Like any other scheme, for the sewing machine scheme also some eligibility conditions have been imposed by the government which are as follows.
- The woman applying should be a citizen of India.
- The age of the woman should be between 20 to 40 years.
- Husband’s annual income should be less than ₹1.44 lakh (₹12,000 per month).
- Priority is given to women from economically weaker sections.
- Widows and disabled women can also apply for this scheme.
